Post structuralism and difference in cultural studies

Post structuralism and difference in cultural studies

Post structuralist observe a text not with only it's language and meaning but with its discourse and hidden elements.

The concept of 'differance' by Derrida is very important for the post structuralist. It gives various interpretation of one point, it is like walking on a road which leads us towards so many interesting destinations.

As per Derrida there is no meaning of word, but word leads us to the another word.. and the chain never ends so there is a concept of language and discourse, what language tries to explain can be understood by its discourse.

Dependence of inside and outside:

Every thing depends on each other in one or the other way, even the cycle of nature also depends on each other. This can be understand by an activity of dependence of inside and outside.

Activity:

1) can anyone locate or describe their house without telling the area, next house, the name of street where the house is placed ?
The answer is "No."
Thus inside of house is dependent on the outside things of the house.

2) India gate is a very famous place for Indians, but no one can locate it without Delhi.

3) gate way of india is also a very famous place, but one can not give any description of it without telling about Mumbai.

4) if we take a very simple example of jar of chocolate on table, one can say that chocolate is on the table or chocolate is in the jar, but this "on" and "in" are very important to locate the chocolate.

So the dependence of inside and outside is natural. Not a single thing is out of this law.

Here I have shared my presentations on this for more understanding :
