The movie is a remake of Malayalam film with
same name “Traffic” in 2011; it is a thriller road movie in Hindi. It includes
various events happened in a single day. All characters are strangers from each
other but circumstances forces them to work together and connect with the same
link which is superstar Dev Kapoor’s daughter who is sick and needs urgent
heart transplant in the hospital of Pune, on the other side in the Mumbai a
journalist Rehan (Visha Singh) who was going to take an interview of Dev Kapoor
and meets an accident and declared that he would not be able to get back his
life. Doctors have tried to convince Rehan’s parents to donate his heart but
they were not ready but finally they donated their son’s heart.
This was the
time when the mission of transporting heart by road has begun. Because of rain
and low visibility it was not possible to transport it by air, so the traffic
commissioner Raghubir Singh (Jimmy Shergill) has taken this challenge and asked
his team members to volunteer to drive on the speed of 120 on the roads of
Mumbai which are full of Traffic.
Finally constable Godbole (Manoj Bajpai) has accepted the challenge. He
was earlier has been suspended because of corruption and rejoined the force
because of recommendation of Member of Parliament. Finally he proved that he is
a good police man by completing his mission.
The movie is full of thrilling events; there
is a unity of time in movie that it has ended in the one revolution of an
earth. All the characters are suffering in their lives with different problems,
and that affects other character’s life, relatedness is there. The description
of time and place is perfectly presented. Incidents are woven together
perfectly. The story of the movie has been written on the real incidents
happened in the Chennai. The role of police and their team work has presented
well.
In the starting
of movie we could see that Godbole is suspended for taking bribe and his friend
is trying to convince the politician by saying that he has four daughters and
that was the reason of taking bribe which was not truth, girls have considered
as weakness and reason of corruption which is bad presentation of a girl child.
Dr. Abel has confessed that his wife was cheating him with his friend and he
attempted to kill his wife because of her betrayal which shows that an educated
doctor could take this kind of decision but later his wife’s apology make him
feel guilty. The scenes of Bilal colony and support of public and all the
hurdles in the way of Pune have been passed by Godbole very perfectly. He
wanted to vanish away the stein of corruption from his uniform and he has done
that.
