When
any person says that, “you should respect a woman” we always agree with that
without thinking reasons and facts behind this phrase.
If
we ask for which reasons we should respect a WOMAN? The obvious answer would:
-
For being a woman
-
For giving birth to child
-Playing a good role in house as well as in
society
And we should respect her for being strong
against man.
Really
is it so? Only these are the characteristics of women? The answer must be ‘No’.
Woman
is much more than beauty, cooking, housekeeping, giving birth and all that
things. She is beautiful because of her physical structure, she knows cooking
because she forced to learn that, she is caring about her house hold works
because she has seen her mother doing that, and she is able to give a birth to
child because of her organs and as far as Genesis is concern her ability is
because of curse!!!
After
being aware of these facts, how can we respect woman for all these reasons?
Is
she only a caretaker? Is she only a piece of beauty?
She is a woman, not because of all these
abilities but her identity is far better than this. We do not need to say
respect man, because we all respect male identity in world because all have one
common mentality that man has a power and he is the one who can rule over the
universe, while women is only a support for him, for giving birth to his children
and taking care of them but that is not the truth.
Feminism
always fights for the identity of females, and supports the role of woman in
society. If we see feminism differently it is also supporting a gender rather
than person. Why should we support females in the world and why we should
respect them, because they are weak and cannot fight for their rights?
So
the question is what are the rights of women?
To
have freedom for doing what she likes,
To
have an education which she wants,
To
wear the dress which she wants,
To
marry with the man she wants,
Have
job in the company she wants...
But
are these things possible?
Most
of time it is not possible, we are living in man dominant society and rights of
men are...
Father
has rights on his daughter,
Brother
has rights on his sister,
Husband
has rights on his wife,
And
the son has rights on his mother.
We
can also change the word ‘rights’ with ‘control’, All this because of women
have got a habit of living in such manner, though she is the owner of house and
the only earning person, but she has fixed her mind to obey her father, son,
and husband.
Respect
cannot be constructed by gender it comes with the personality he or she has. So
we should not insult any woman by giving her respect just for one reason that
she is a “WOMAN”.
It
is not any competition where women want to prove that they are better than men;
the only thing is to stop those who continuously underestimate the female
identity. We all know that there are so many differences between both male and female;
they cannot be equal anymore but the only thing which creates equality is rights
of freedom, a girl deserves same freedom which a boy has and our culture have
to accept this.
“Respect the struggle
and achievements of a person and not the gender.”
