6. Patterns of Presentation   

 

     

              The body of presentation is organized in six basic patterns. We need to choose the best pattern that suits and develops our topic.

1. Chronological pattern

       

       A chronological pattern is one in which information is organised chronologically. A presenter can use this pattern for an informative presentation. It can also represent the growth of the company to visitors.

2. Spatial (related to space) pattern

      

      Spatial pattern organizes the material according to how it is put together and where it should located physically.  It arranges the material with the company building with the locations of its various divisions.

3. Topical/categorical pattern

       

       The most followed pattern is topical pattern. In this pattern presenter divides the presentation into some themes and category. For example, if a presenter has a topic of major systems, he can divide his presentation as per the topic.

4. Cause and effect pattern

        The first part of the presentation should explain how and why conflicts arise. The second part could discuss the effect of conflicts on the progress and the environment of the organization.

5. Problem and solution pattern

       This pattern also divides the information into two main sections. One that describes problem and another that describes the solution. This pattern is designed to compel the listener to make some kind of change in the opinion or behaviour by establishing the problems exists and then it gives the solution.

6. Climatic pattern

      In this pattern, items are arranged from least important to most important. For example, when a presenter is presenting accomplished project, a presenter can start slowly explaining the basic points and then can present the various stages of the project. This is a flexible pattern and can guide the organization of all.
