7. Main body of the presentation:
The message which you are presenting has to
be yours. Organization is the key to clarity. The following points could help
during the presentation:
1. Message – based
approach:
A message based approach makes facts
secondary. Presenter should present a message with facts which supports his
message. In other words, facts should prove that our message is true and
appropriate. If a presenter divides his message, he will divide it in
sub-topics, as the product description, comparative study and advantage. When
he delivers the first part, which is product description, a presenter has lots
of topics to discuss such as difficulties during designing the presentation.
2. Creativity and
presentation and speeches:
The essence of creativity is to be able to
look at familiar objects and situations, enriched by experience.
The four steps in creative process are as
follows:
1. Preparation:
A presenter should know what he wants to
achieve. A presenter should get the knowledge about his topic/subject.
Converting content skills in to process skills will help the presenter to
prepare well.
2. Incubation:
At this stage, sub-conscious mind works more.
Think over the topic and make a note of your all thoughts. The relevance of
some thoughts may not be apparent for, hours, days, or weeks. Ideas come into
being when some thoughts crash, it is necessary to give some time for this to
happen.
3. Illumination:
Creative ideas are break through ideas. Some
ideas are well connected to the presentation and that helps us to convey the
message to the audience.
4. Verification:
Here, presenter needs to allow conscious
brain to take over and evaluate the suggestions given by sub-conscious mind. In
other words, a presenter is testing his assumptions to check their validity.
3. Mind mapping the
presentation:
A mind map is made of one central idea or
concept, and 5 – 10 related concepts. A presenter can define the type of
relationships between the centre and the branches. Mind maps are the most
effective and versatile thinking – tool available. The use of shapes, colours,
and dimensional as visual stimulants further adds to this simple and powerful
too.
